Where to begin...

Well, I have always been in tune with the other side that spills in over here. My mom said I was weird and imaginative because I told her there was a ghost named George in my closet. She said, 'Well, Georgie is from a book, but okay, go play with Georgie...' When I was a kid at five, I came running to my mom; I saw something...

When I woke up, it was outside my window. The sky was grey; the whole thing was grey. The trees were not where they were, and a dirt road was there. A wagon pulls up, and a person wearing a grey outfit and a strange hat had buttons down his shirt, and he pointed a weird-looking gun. Not a cowboy one (I had gotten a cowboy snap gun to play with my brother; he got a set too). I said it scared me; can I stay with you for a few more hours? It was five in the morning. At 10, things really changed. Georgie was mad at me for having real friends, and he would throw things out of my closet at me: coat hangers, clothes, and mom was always telling me to clean my room. I was messy. I said, 'But I didn’t do it.' She said, 'No excuses.' I said, 'But Georgie did it.' She brushed me off. Books and papers and art supplies were everywhere. I would sigh, go to him and say, 'You need to stop that. I can’t keep cleaning up after you. Leave me be; I know you are there...' One day, mom walked into my room and saw a book fly across the room and screamed. I said, 'I told you, Georgie does that...' She freaked out, started reading every book she could on ghosts and occult things and psychic stuff... She tested me and was like, 'You are completely void of ESP. You get the cards completely wrong; most get half right.' I said, 'No, I am reading them from the bottom of the deck up.' She then went, 'What?' and tested me that way, and I was 100% correct... She then would test me on so many things, saying I was creating the stuff to stop it and learn to control it, and I said again, 'No, it is Georgie’s fault, not mine.' She said, 'So you see things?' I said, 'Sometimes... They are not living anymore; they are here, though, and there is a gate. Georgie says that is why so many come here...'

I then would sneak my mom’s books into my room and read them so I would learn the things she was reading anything from golden dawn to psychic ability and gemstones the stones were my favorite and my dad even gave me a book on geology and archaeology ‘cus I told him I liked to know about people from the past. At ten we went to New Orleans to the Worlds Fair and I saw some awesome things like the King Tut exhibits and then Vatican stuff and the Peruvian Gold exhibit… things like that interested me because I wanted to know why I saw Native American Indians and why I saw civil war people… and sensed things like say someone outside my room peeking in my window and I knew they were there ran to my father and he ran outside to see a kid running off with my black and white tv … he then put homemade alarm system up to warn us so the windows all had magnets and copper wire through the screens and the alarm was so intense and loud when it go off but half the time one would slam the bathroom door in his room and it would hit the alarm red button lol…

I didn’t see the kid I sensed him … things like that… at thirteen I was into advanced dungeons and dragons a friend from that gameplay gave me a Ouija board so I could talk to those ghosts and they could talk back that was a bad idea I wont go into all the darkness that thing can bring but if I see one come in my place now I would burn it to the ground… that is all I will say on it but maybe in storylore I will talk about it someday… not here…

So yes those things have always interested me at thirteen I also one day heard in my room someone calling out from no where saying that I was someone special named Astraia and I didn’t understand that at the time I made stories of the dreams I had about that and I am now writing a book on it maybe trilogy set … that is for future things.

I changed the name later when I was 19 and got into society of creative anachronism… to Astraya…. But because of the name thing I ran to my dad who was a Aries and someone that had to see and hear stuff for himself before he would believe but he never doubted me at all… he said take this cassette tape put it in your music boombox and hit record and walk out the door shut it and let it play so I did…

What was on that made the hair on my arms stand in chill… and strange ...

it proved once and for all I was not making anything up… on the tape it was hard to hear by ear … but you could hear rustling sounds … so dad said be right back bring the tape to living room to my big stereo that looked like it was from a recording studio in the 70’s style… this was the around 1984.

He came back with his huge amp and hot wired it to the speaker slot on his stereo and turned the sound up as loud as it would go…

On the tape was rustling papers as they were being moved about things falling off the tables and spots they were meant to be, you could hear the books being pulled out of bookcase… and such… then the whispers were there and he said ok brb and got a amplifier module and soldered it to the speaker and said ok there… and turned it up so the whispers changed it was a chanting sound in another language none of us knew he said that it sounded like it was from his heritage but it freaked him out his face was pail white at this point and he just sat there… mom was on the phone with the church pastor and talking about exorcising our house from the evil spirits especially my room…

I wont go into that either but will tell you the pastor and the young priests left and said they would never come back an visit our house but we are still welcome to communion and to the church just do not talk to no one about this…it didn’t work it made things worse btw…

So many stories I could tell about living in that house and growing up experiences that most think I make them up when I have never made any of that up nor would I… anyhow…

In the 90’s my father was gone… he passed in 1989… as a young adult thinking of colllege and stuff it was so rough to leave my mom she made me though she said it would have been my dads dream to see me go to college and not just get associates degree from junior college in drawing/painting… so I did… and then came back to the home when in 1994 I had finished college and was pregnant with my kid… in 1997 I decided to make a website and call it Astraya’s Oracle to talk and write and deal with things of well the nature of the travelers which I was big into persona wise in the sca… at that time… some viking too it was like winter when cold was the viking/scandinavian and in the summer was travelers. Mainly cus my father told me that I had scandinavian in me from my grandmotherside and my grandfatherside and that I should be proud of my heritage my grandmother always said that too… be proud you are from Norway and she even gave me a book on it to read and keep. My grandfather was from Denmark… and I know now due to DNA testing that is true… 25% last I checked.

So many years passed by since then… I had the site up for about three years in 1999 I had to move to a different city due to a intruder coming into my home and threatening the life of my child at that time was 4 and I … I wont go into that either… but we moved and left my home of 26 yrs…

The site was there til 2001 when I had computer get struck by lightning and fried the router modem and the phone line it was attached too… cus back then we had to dial in… then I move for work and was busy with other things in life that took precedent over website so it is gone but I managed to keep on a cd some images of some things I had created from then and so this site will have more from my spiritual journey and things I have learned and still learning it is a forever thing… I am not a witch or wiccan I am a seeker of knowledge and wisdom and have always been.

So this will be where I show some of that and where you can interact and gather information on who you are and what will be in the short term if you want to learn and feel and tap into that side of things a little…

Know that from things in the past I am the only one left of my family that still remembers and is here… my kid is the only connection I have to blood my brother is well far away and we don’t talk to each other much at all… my mother , my father, grandparents on both sides, my sister, and my expartner are all gone ...sigh...
